The years of expert training of King’s crew members provide for you and your friends and family a fun and positive experience of the Russian River. The following provides information about what to expect on a kayak trip on the Russian River, in addition our services, with prices included and a small list of requirements of our customers.
Current River Conditions: This past winter was a wet one and flows should remain solid all summer long! The continual flushing water will keep the river clean and moving all summer long!
KAYAKING THE RUSSIAN RIVER
As the Russian River meanders through valleys of Sonoma Wine Country, it creates an ideal opportunity for kayakers of all levels. We offer many exciting paddling opportunities from self guided trips to multi-day trips as well as overnight rentals. There’s also the option to pick up kayaks at our store and take them to a location of your choice.
SELF-GUIDED TRIPS
Take a wonderful adventure down the Russian River on one of our self guided tours. We supply the boats, life vests, paddles, and transportation. Our transportation service will launch you on a down-stream trip on the river where you are likely to experience a fun (and easy) trip. These trips are perfect for kayakers of any level and are priced at a reasonable range for any budget. All kayak trips start out with basic boating instructions and the “dos and don’ts” of paddling the river. Customers are also welcome to transport themselves to locations along the entire 100-mile length of the Russian River, Lake Sonoma, Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay.
Reservations are greatly appreciated but walk-ins are welcome!

Restrictions: You must be able to transport the kayaks yourself.

Guerneville to Monte Rio

2.5 to 3 hours
Distance: 5 Miles
Excellent trip for individuals of all experience levels
Trip #3
Social Distance
Mid June to Late September
Guerneville to Vacation Beach dam and back to Guerneville
No shuttle necessary and enjoy the river with piece of mind
Lots of beaches to pull off at to have a picnic lunch or go for a swim
Approx. Paddling Time: 2 to 2.5 hours
Distance: 4 miles
Other Options
There are a few other drop off locations if you would like to extend your trip or shorten it. Speak to a representative about a drop off at Oddfellows crossing to add 3 miles to Trip #2 or Vacation Beach to shorten Trip # 2 by 2 miles. Reservation only not available during peak times.
SUP Rentals
We now offer stand up paddle boards or SUP's. Due to the newness of the sport and the physical demand we are only offering rentals for dropoff at Johnsons Beach for paddling within the area around the dams unless you want to transport the boards yourself. No trip options due to the damage that may incur to the boat in shallow water.

What We Require
Minimum age of 8 years old.
Credit card for a deposit
Kayaks must be returned before 5:00 PM
All participants MUST have a basic knowledge of how to swim and are required to wear life vests when in the boat at all times.
All participants must be physically able to paddle for 2.5 hours
Due to safety issues, pets are not allowed
Please allow 48 hours for cancellations or 72 hours of groups of 10 or more
No shows will be charged the full rental rate to your deposit card
For kayak trips, you must arrive to start your trip no later than 1:00pm
What We Suggest
Please bring your own supply of the following items:
- Sun protection, including sunscreen and hats
- Proper shoe attire, ie closed-toe sandals or water shoes; barefoot or flip flops are not recommended
- Some food (sandwiches make a great lunch on a boat) and bottled water
-Expect to get wet! So please wear swim wear and bring towels
